David M. Boutrous focuses his practice on insurance defense litigation matters involving no-fault law, motor vehicle negligence, as well as investigation of fraudulent and suspicious claims. Mr. Boutrous also has experience in workplace law and commercial litigation, providing strategic defense to employers and businesses across Michigan and state courts. 


David handles a wide array of insurance defense, workplace law, and complex litigation matters. He leverages deep knowledge of Michigan’s No-Fault reforms to limit client exposure and efficiently navigate cases from pre-suit investigations through case evaluations and trial preparation. David delivers targeted, cost-effective solutions for risk managers and claims professionals. His prior extensive experience as a litigation paralegal analyzing privileged documents allows him to streamline discovery for corporate clients.


A recognized writer and researcher, David has published comprehensive legal analyses, including articles on EEOC employer guidance for JD Supra and a detailed examination of Michigan's automobile insurance system in the Wayne Law Review. During law school, he earned the Bernard Gottfried Memorial Labor Law Symposium Scholarship and achieved the highest grade in Appellate Advocacy.


David is admitted to practice in Michigan, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan. He earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School. He also holds an M.A. in International Relations from Syracuse University and a B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame. He stays highly engaged in the local legal community as an active member of the Detroit Bar Association, the Oakland County Bar Association, and the Michigan Chapter of the National Arab American Bar Association.
